Singularitarians already have the conceptual endorsement of several of the
smartest scientist polymaths not explicitly associated with the singularity.
Obviously Feynman, with respect to MNT, but also Von Neumann with respect
to self-replication and GAI.

"One conversation centered on the ever accelerating progress of
technology and changes in the mode of human life, which gives the appearance
of approaching some essential singularity in the history of the race beyond
which human affairs, as we know them, could not continue." —Stanislaw Ulam,
May 1958, referring to a conversation with John von Neumann
