This was meant to be an analogy. Just as in an open source (well,
free software if you want to get technical) project, a few people do
the most due to directed efforts and, in reality, there aren't many
little projects that just anyone can pick up and do. I think it's
pretty much the same with the Singularity Movement ;-): most work
comes out of some directed efforts by an individual (WebMind is a
little different, since it has more infrastructure to it than, say, a
paper).
You know, I think we've had this exact discussion before (about what
people can do), a couple of times.
