Has anyone here read "Being There" by Andy Clark (MIT Press, 1997)? It's already a bit outdated, but it sure seems like a good read. I haven't had time to finish it yet, but Clark discusses whether or not an AI can truly understand anything without interacting with a world, talks about embodied intelligence and how classical AI fails miserably since it tries to separate the brain from the body (and thus the world).
Read it if you haven't already! :)
