We might conclude this explosion thing is the default state. Stars explode,
contract. Maybe the sun does every few years, albeit not very spectacularly,

and we minor resonance cycles. What is certain is beyond the hydrogen cycle
these blasts become that pronounced as to douse whole regions of space
with hot shards of gas. Solar wind on steroids. Maybe red giants aren't that
