Start with the standard exponential curve spiking on the right hand side.
Anders Sandberg did me one for THE SPIKE, which some dodo designer at Forge
then s p r e a d o u t to fill the width of the page, which
made it look less like a dramatic spike than a gentle hillside (sigh)...
but Anders has done another rather nice version in which the top of the
curve cracks through the top line, splintering it. Might be too tricksy,
but check it out.
