I've been looking for comprehensive metrics for, and data on software
complexity, complexity of the human brain, predictability and reliability of
complex software, and the ability and predictability/reliability of
programmers and users to understand, design, debug, modify, maintain, and
use complex software. There are metrics such as Source Lines of Code and
Cyclomatic complexity
(http://www.dacs.dtic.mil/techs/baselines/complexity.html), but I'm not
convinced they are adequate. A broader (and more complex) issue is metrics
for human-machine system and organizational system complexity,
predictability, and reliability. One common engineering metric, MTBF, for
example, may be relevant.

I welcome all suggestions. This may be relevant to the current discussion.
