Not long ago I was at a conference with distinguished panel members that
was discussing the singularity.
In response to a question, an audience of over 100 was polled to see if
they were aware of this story. None of them could remember it, though
later some had a vague memory of it.
Did anyone on this list see the story at the time? Few stories are more
directly to the point of this list, but there seems to have never been a
previous mention of it.
