In case people here haven't noticed this:
http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn7470
Seen on Slashdot.org.
"An effort to create the first computer simulation
of the entire human brain, right down to the molecular
level, was launched on Monday."
Of course, "down to the molecular level" seems unnecessarily
ambitious, as does "real time". However, at least this
system doesn't seem to be likely to go super, since it
would have to become a biochemist *and* a programmer
first.
