The Blue Gene-L supercomputer is already highly
parallel. It consists of 32K Power-PC 440 dual
core processors, or 64K total processor cores.

The Cell chip has two power-pc cores plus eight
supplementary cores, and they are designed to be
able to pipeline data rapidly through the cores.
So if your algorithm is simple enough to reside
in the on-chip caches and is of a repetitive
nature (i.e. decoding a video stream), the Cell
chip will perform very well.

How well it will do on general-purpose problems
or AI is yet to be seen.
