Actually, our technology is sufficient to detect smaller planets than
wobbling Jupiters. See http://www.kepler.arc.nasa.gov/ to read of
technologies currently extant to detect earth-size planets, and planets even
smaller than earth. The 'wobble data' was clearly not sufficient to
determine if earth-size planets existed, but it could be conducted quickly
with existing equipment. The Kepler mission was designed to detect planets
by detecting variations in the brightness of stars over time. Much more
sensitive, but requiring longer observation times.

The data is not in yet... let's wait and see.
