Wow, the insulting rhetoric from the SIAI "insiders" seems to be
escalating considerably of late.

peanut gallery  n. 
1. The hindmost or uppermost section of seating in a theater balcony,
where the seats are cheapest. 
2. A group of people whose opinions are considered unimportant
Of course, it's expected that any technical project is going to have
internal discussions that penetrate more deeply into technical matters
than is possible in a more general forum.  
However, that doesn't mean that the insights of outsiders should be
considered generically "unimportant."
