Hi

Maybe I should explain why this topic is relevant to
SL4... Up to a certain stage of automation, the
correlation between "work" and "reward" will become
so thin as to be virtually nonexistent. But our
economy is supposedly based on meritocracy, which
means some members of the society are supposedly
"working" to better the lives of other members and
therefore they deserve to be (financially) rewarded.
At some point in progressive automation, the very
meaning of "work" may start to break down. This
is a very serious problem because human beings
so far have only been able to organize ourselves
based on exchange of goods and thus capitalism.
We have seen nothing like this before, the extreme
form of automation that'll be enabled by AIs.
