BTW, he coined as a book title the nifty jest I borrowed in a recent post:
Pluto's Republic. It was characteristic: at once unexpected, blindingly
witty, and deep.

And for fanciers of the Omega Point, see his classic devastation of Teilhard
de Chardin in the aforementioned collection.
