The implicit goal of most large corporations is
to take over the world, too. Only, they state their
goal in terms like "earn above average return on
investment". If you actually did that for a long
enough time, you would end up owning most of the
world's assets. For example, the 2nd richest man
in the US, Warren Buffet, got there by doing just
that for a working lifetime.
