EE Times has a story about a C compiler that
pulls out the compute intensive parts of a
program. It then configures a Field Programmable
Gate Array to make the wiring match the
algorithm, which can produce tens to hundreds
of times speedup compared to general purpose
CPUs. It looks like most of the speedup is
due to exploiting parallelism in the given
